Prof. V. Shyam Kishore is currently working as an assistant professor at VIT School of Law, VIT University at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Prof. Shyam holds an LLM degree in Corporate and Financial Services Law from the National University of Singapore. He graduated with second rank in law from the School of Indian Legal Thought, Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam, Kerala.
Prior to entering the academic profession, he practiced law as a foreign legal adviser in a few reputed law firms in Singapore. Prof. Shyam has been teaching corporate and commercial laws for many years. He specialises in the area of the law of corporate governance and has been responsible for the designing of courses on corporate governance and other areas of corporate law both at the graduate and undergraduate level in more than one university in the country.
He has submitted his doctoral thesis, titled “Law Relating to Derivative Action and Protection of Minority Investors: A Critical Study” to the University of Madras, for evaluation. Besides he has also authored research papers that have been published in national and international journals. He has been invited as a resource person in various conferences. He has also visited other universities as a guest faculty to deliver lectures on corporate and contract laws. He was also invited by many universities to judge various National Moot Court Competitions.
